Phantom Retractable Screen Doors Keep Bugs Out

Many of us spend a lot of time on the patio in the summer.  Some of us spend so much that the patio starts to seem like part of the inside of the house.  That means that having a screen door between the patio and interior living space can get annoying, especially if you don't need it  Instead, look for a Phantom screen door.  These center post mounted, roll up screens are perfect for patio use, and they'll last for a long while.  If you want to keep bugs out of the house and minimize annoyance while using the patio, a Phantom retractable screen door is a great choice.

If you're tired of opening and closing an ordinary screen door, dealing with sliding patio screens that fall off their tracks, or have French doors that can't be screened conventionally, there's an answer.  Use a retractable screen door from Phantom to keep insects out while still allowing convenient access and keeping a tidy look to your home.  When you don't need it, just roll the screen up out of the way.

Of course, it's important to care for your Phantom screen door properly if you want it to last.  If you're not using the screen, make sure you retract it.  If you're trying to release the latch, don't press on the mesh, either.  These doors have a safety feature that cause them to roll up if they're bumped, but this can deteriorate over time if you use that feature to open the door.

Make sure that your Phantom retractable screen door rolls up evenly.  If it rolls with creases, those creases can become permanent, destroying the look of your screen.  If you've chosen to buy a motorized screen, make sure that there's nothing in the way before you raise or lower them.  Also, power availability could affect whether or not you can use these screens.  If there seems to be a problem, check your breakers.

A Phantom screen door is great for keeping insects out while letting fresh air in.  However, that doesn't make it a good way to secure your home or keep your pets inside.  It can be damaged by animals and people using it roughly.  To make sure everything works properly, you'll need to make sure the tracks are clean and properly lubricated.  Use a silicone spray lubricant as appropriate, and clean the tracks and mesh periodically using a soft brush and water.  Never use a pressure washer or strong chemicals.  Allows screens to dry after cleaning and before retracting them again.  that prevents mildewing and other mold growth.

If a strong wind makes the mesh of your Phantom screen door sail out of its track, don't be too upset.  After the wind stops, the mesh should fall back down where it belongs.  There's an exception, though.  If you're using a motorized door, and the wind is strong, retract the mesh to prevent damage to the mechanisms.
